Things have been crazy busy as of late. The podcast is doing VERY well, the holidays are here, and that means I’m in a mad rush to finish commissions before year’s end!
This also means it’s time for me do finish up holiday shopping as well! Thankfully I know more than one nerd in my life so it hasn’t been too difficult this year. I just have a few more to go.
So what have I been up to? Well, a bit. The hubster and I found out that we’re going to be PCS’ing to Florida in the spring. I am so happy about this news! But that also means we now have five months to pack, find me a job, find a house, panic, move, etc. Exciting times! I’m pretty sure I’m going to do a temporary close on my shop until after the move – that way I can pack and also work on the costumes for myself that I need to get done for the upcoming convention season.

Last month was the Doctor Who 50th Annivesary special – and unless you live under a rock, you already knew that! The hubster and I met up with some of our friends and checked out the 2D showing. Granted that was the third time I’d seen it – the first two being the day it aired naturally. To the theatrical showing I was able to wear my new Clara outfit from the 50th Anniversary. It was a good run – a girl saw my outfit and was like “Dude. It’s been out two days and you’ve already pulled it off. That’s awesome!”. Oh how she has no idea how long I’ve been putting it together. Thanks to people IDing the outfit when they were FILMING. I tell you, we costumers (and Whovians) are insane. Rabid, even. 🙂
Anyway, a good time was had. The day it aired we went over to a Who themed party full of shenanigans, Who-beverages, and card games. I need to find pics from that. The little Adipose guys were adorable and my “Waters of Mars” beverages were the bomb-diggity (I played bartender all night).

I’ve been working with the Rebel Legion / 501st Legion here in Arkansas a lot, too. I love the local 501st squad, and I love that they adopted this rebel scum princess into their family (seriously, not many of us RL people in my area). They’re a lot of fun to hang out with and we’re doing some good in the process. This upcoming weekend we’ll be marching in the Little Rock Chistmas Parade – AKA the Big Jingle Jubilee Holiday Parade (that name is terrible, but I digress). Hopefully it won’t be too cold, but I love wearing my Leia dress so it’s worth it if it is. Most importantly – I love marching for the kids! They LOVE Star Wars and Princess Leia is everyone’s best friend! Well that and for some reason Darth Vader… LOL!
So that’s what I’ve been up to of late. Hopefully I’ll have more time now to post. 🙂
