So little time?
As someone who likely has ADHD, I wasn’t sure what to do with my month of “free time” (aside from work) between semesters. Well, I’ve been keeping myself busy! I’ve been working on several projects for gifts and a project for myself. Without further ado, here are a couple of the things that I’ve made recently.
Hetty HoldAll from Sassafras Lane Design (and bonus wallet!)

Pattern: Hetty HoldAll from Sassafras Lane Designs
Main fabric: Tiny Tomorrow Smooth Vinyl from Wonderground Fabrics
Accent fabric: Black + Rainbow Glitz Cork from Sassafras Lane Designs
Lining fabric (not shown): QT Fabrics Fusion Ripple Turquoise Panel
Hardware: Wizard Stitchery & Crafts
“D” Hardware: Zor-Elle Fabrics
Wallet Pattern: Self-drafted – inside there’s a cash and card slot from the same black cork, and a zippered pocket with a castle pull from Wizard Stitchery & Crafts.
I made this bag, wallet, and a matching keyfob for myself as a transition into making bags out of vinyl and cork instead of regular fabric, and woo was it a learning experience! I also used PU bias tape around the top edge of the bag (not shown) to finish it off. Next time I’ll either edge coat OR I’ll properly birth the bag…ugh.
Crescent Tote from Noodlehead Sewing Patterns

Pattern: Crescent Tote from Noodlehead Sewing Patterns
Main Fabric: Enchanted Dark from Kaffe Fassett Studio (purchased through Hancock’s of Paducah)
Accent Fabric: Hot Pink Cork from Sew Sweetness
Lining fabric (not shown): Moda Grunge Glitter in Black
Hardware: Amazonia
I made this bag as a gift, and I wanted to brush up on my bag-making skills some more. I’ll say I’m very proud of this one and the topstitching is *chef’s kiss*. I used Poly Star sparkle thread from Sulky for the topstitching and matches both the lining and hardware perfectly. I cannot wait for her to open this one!
Clematis Wristlet by Blue Calla

Pattern: Clematis Wristlet by Blue Calla
Main Fabric: Enchanted Dark from Kaffe Fassett Studio (purchased through Hancock’s of Paducah)
Accent Fabric: Black + Rainbow Glitz Cork from Sassafras Lane Designs
Lining fabric (not shown): Moda Grunge Glitter in Black
Hardware: Amazonia
Sewing Machine Zipper Pull: Bedazzled Supplies
Cardholder Pattern: Self-drafted – seriously, I just sewed some scrap cork together and made this little guy w/two card slots and a cash slot.
This morning I put together this Clematis wristlet. I have a couple of these and they are truly little bags of holding. I’ve taken them to Disneyland and they held everything I needed for the day. This is a wonderful little pattern and I decided to try my hand at it using scrap Kaffe fabric and black cork. I am really proud of this one, too. The corners, the topstitching, the zipper pull. I love it. I did the topstitching out of the Poly Star again because why not? This time I went with rainbow hardware to match the cork and added the super cute sewing matching zipper pull. I couldn’t be happier.
Now, what to sew next? Maybe I should get back to sewing some of the costumes I need to work on for DragonCon! I can’t help it, I am enjoying making bags on my Elna Elnita ef1 that I got from Sew Vac City SO MUCH!
Hope you’re all as inspired as I have been and wish you all the best!
Stay shiny!
