I Am An “Open Book Cosplayer”

What IS the “Open Book Cosplayer” Project?

Vicious-Cosplay:

There is a stigma in the cosplay community that most cosplayers would prefer to hide the tactics used in order to make a particular cosplay. This project is dedicated to raising awareness for those cosplayers who are open to being asked questions and more than willing to help those in need. In short, you are an ‘Open Book’ full of information for all who seek it.

Now what does that mean? Pretty much what it states above! I promise I will NEVER, ever hide my sources or methods in costuming. Now I may forget where I get something, but I always do my best to provide as much help and information as I can! Be in information on a screen accurate item, fabric used, etc.The only thing I will not disclose is how much I paid for an item (screen accurate pieces mostly) unless asked. SA pieces vary in cost, rarity, etc.

Anyway, I’m working on putting links to all of the patterns I’ve used. In the past I have done some drawings of some patterns I’ve drafted myself.

I can also teach how to do things and I may start doing tutorial videos. I need to use my youtube channel since I haven’t in about a million years. ^_^

All in all, I would like more people in the costuming/cosplay community to be more open with how they do things or where they got them. There is far too much shade and drama as it is in the world and costuming is supposed to be about FUNI promise to do my best to keep it that way.

If anyone ever has a question about a costume I’ve done in the past that isn’t answered on my website, PLEASE feel free to comment or email me here: courtney@patchworkpirate.com

[EDIT: I just found out this is my 42nd post!!!!]
