So this weekend my husband deployed for his fifth trip to the sandbox. This time it’s different as it’s a new place so I’ve got an extra feeling of worry. I know he’ll be fine. I know he’ll be safe. I know he’ll come home soon (though not soon enough!!!).

This is his first deployment where we’ve actually lived together and I haven’t been around family. It’s just me and the dog this time around. It’s different. It’s scary. But it’s the life I chose so I could be with the man I love.

I have plenty of things to do this summer to help keep my mind occupied, so that will help some of the time. Other times – especially night time – it’s really difficult. I’m not sleeping well – I think I’ve gotten USED to his snoring! I never thought I’d say that.

Thankfully even though he’s gone this summer, our landlord is pretty awesome and is getting everything fixed that has happened with the house lately. I wish I could do a lot of the things that need to be done but I just haven’t learned how to yet. That will change once my husband’s back. I will make him teach meeeeeeee! *flail* 🙂

In costuming news, I’m making *some* progress with Rose Tyler. I’m still waiting on the fabric to come in (GRR), but I found a great base pair of sunglasses that I’ll be painting pink (they have the right shape!). I also have purchased a pair of Agent Provocateur Katy shoes – they’re the same height as the Jessica shoes – and I’ll be taking lots of progress pictures of my conversion of those to a more accurate pair. Can’t wait for everything to come in so I can GET TO WORK! Comicpalooza is in less than three weeks! AAAAAAAAAAAH!

So that’s what’s going on in my world as of late – I’m working on some things for TheGeekElite – I’ll be interviewing some of my favorite cosplayers soon for our “Cosplayer of the Day” featurette! Looking forward to it!
